Phillips Selected to Present at National Conference

Carrie Harris Phillips, director of Arkansas Tech University MARCOMM, has been selected to speak at the 2019 American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers Strategic Enrollment Management Conference Nov. 3-6 in Dallas, Texas.

Phillips’ presentation is entitled “Talking the Talk: Working with Creatives.”

A two-time graduate of ATU, Phillips holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and a Master of Arts degree in multi-media journalism. After beginning her career as an associate producer at television station WXII in North Carolina, she returned home to ATU as assistant director of new media in 2008. She was elevated to director of new media in 2011 and accepted leadership of MARCOMM in 2018.

Her achievements have included the establishment of ATU on multiple social media platforms, the creation and implementation of social media guidelines for the campus community, the development of arkansastechnews.com, advances in capturing, disseminating and archiving video footage from campus events and significant contributions to multiple award-winning marketing and communication projects on behalf of the university.

Phillips earned the Professional Certified Marketer credential through the American Marketing Association. She is currently pursuing on a Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration from Texas Tech University.
