Arkansas Tech University President Dr. Russell Jones announced on Monday, April 28, that Amy Pennington is ATU’s next vice president for student affairs.
Pennington, who has served as interim vice president for student affairs since Wednesday, April 2, will take office on a permanent basis on Thursday, May 1.
“Throughout her distinguished association with Arkansas Tech University, Mrs. Pennington has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to this institution and its students,” said Jones. “The combination of experiences she has accumulated at ATU have prepared her for the responsibilities of vice president for student affairs. We look forward to her continued leadership at Arkansas Tech.”
Pennington has served as ATU associate vice president for student affairs since 2018 and as dean of students at ATU since 2011. She previously served as director of international and multicultural student services from 2003-11, director of housing programs in the Office of Residence Life from 2000-03 and student recruitment and publicity specialist in the Office of Admissions from 1997-2000. She has also provided leadership for ATU’s compliance with Title IX.
A 1997 graduate of Arkansas Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, Pennington earned a Master of Education degree in higher education administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 2003.
