Miss Arkansas Week to Include ATU Representatives

Arkansas Tech University will be represented by four students and two alumnae in the 2024 Miss Arkansas scholarship competition and one incoming student in the 2024 Miss Arkansas’ Teen scholarship competition June 8-15 at the Robinson Center in Little Rock.

Kristin Hardy of Benton, Hannah Lomax of Russellville, Kate Manuel of Green Forest, Olivia McNeese of Lamar, Sophe Sligh of Hot Springs and Faith Tooke of Warren will represent Arkansas Tech during the Miss Arkansas pageant.

Incoming ATU student Sophie Puckett of Jonesboro will compete in the Miss Arkansas’ Teen pageant.

Hardy, 23, is Miss Central Arkansas. She graduated from ATU in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. Her talent is a flute performance. Hardy’s community service initiative is “M.I.N.D.: Mental Illness Never Defines.”

Lomax, 23, is Miss River Valley and a senior biology biomedical option and music student at Arkansas Tech. Her talent is a piano performance. Lomax’s community service initiative is “Letters of Hope.”

Manuel, 21, is Miss Arkansas Tech University and a senior elementary education student at ATU. Her talent is a vocal performance. Manuel’s community service initiative is “Si Se Puede: Empowerment Through Education.”

McNeese, 19, is Miss Johnson County and a sophomore broadcast journalism student at ATU. Her talent is a vocal performance. McNeese’s community service initiative is “Find Your Voice.”

Sligh, 25, is Miss Saline County and a 2021 graduate of Arkansas Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Her talent is a violin performance. Sligh’s community service initiative is “Live Smart for a Healthy Heart.”

Tooke, 20, is Miss Southeast Arkansas and a senior digital marketing student at ATU. Her talent is a vocal performance. Tooke’s community service initiative is “From Hunger to Hope.”

Puckett, 18, is Miss Lights of the Delta Teen and will be a freshman at ATU in fall 2024. Her talent is a tap dance performance. Puckett’s community service initiative is “Helping Other People Every Day.”

Miss Arkansas is an official preliminary to the Miss America competition.
