Lunch With a Leader Event Planned for Wednesday

Cody Black, senior vice president for commercial lending at First State Bank in Russellville, will be the guest speaker at the Wednesday, Oct. 9, Lunch With a Leader series event hosted by the Arkansas Tech University Office of Student Leadership.

The conversation will begin at 11 a.m. in Baswell Techionery room 203. Lunch will be provided on a first come, first served basis.

Black earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in economics and finance from ATU in 2003. He has more than 20 years experience in the banking industry.

A graduate of Clarksville High School, Black has rendered service on behalf of organizations such as River Valley United Way, the Johnson County Chamber of Commerce, the Clarksville Planning and Zoning Commission, the Clarksville Light and Water Commission, the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce red coat committee, Leadership Russellville, ARVAC and the ATU College of Business advisory board.

Black is enrolled in the Stonier Graduate Banking School at the University of Pennsylvania and the McNulty Leadership program in the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School.

According to the ATU Office of Student Leadership, Lunch With a Leader is a series of “round table discussions that will offer students a chance to learn from the experience of seasoned professionals from a variety of different fields.”
