Arkansas Tech University students are invited to a workshop concerning the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, in the Miller Center for Global Engagement, Dean Hall room 117.
“The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs,” said Gabriele Haulmark, director of the ATU International Education Office, ATU study abroad coordinator and senior instructor of German. “It enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad. To be eligible for the Gilman program, applicants must be receiving a federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program.”
The next Gilman Scholarship application deadline is March 6, 2025.
“This scholarship deadline encompasses study abroad programs taking place between May 1, 2025 and spring 2026,” said Haulmark.
The Jan. 31 workshop will be led by Haulmark and Dr. Kesley Utne, ATU assistant professor of history.
