Leadership Tech Project, Tech Outlet, Comes to Fruition

The Tech Outlet, a lounge for Arkansas Tech University faculty and staff, was officially opened during an event on Thursday, Aug. 26.

Located in Baswell Techionery room 204, the Tech Outlet is the result of an innovation project by members of Leadership Tech cohort four.

Dr. Jeff Bright, Dr. Newton Hilliard, Laura Rudolph and Thomas Strahan had the vision for the project, which is designed to improve employee engagement and satisfaction. Their Leadership Tech group facilitator was Dr. Gina Kraft.

Maintenance of the Tech Outlet will be included in the ATU Faculty and Staff Well-Being initiative. Dr. Erin Clair represented that group at the grand opening.

The mission of Leadership Tech is “to develop and enhance the leadership knowledge, skills and abilities of all individuals as well as the collective leadership capacity of the university in order to achieve unparalleled excellence in serving our students, community supporters and institutional family.”

Dr. Mary B. Gunter, chief of staff in the ATU Office of the President, serves as chair of the Leadership Tech governing council.
