Free Summer Camps Help Youth Connect With Careers

A pair of free summer camps hosted through the Arkansas Tech University College of Business and Economic Development during the month of June will seek to help junior high and high school students develop real-world skills applicable in a variety of career fields.

The Arkansas Gifted and Talented Creativity, Agriculture and Knowledge of Enterprise (CAKE) Camp will take place June 8-12 on the ATU campus in Russellville.

Designed for students who will be in grades 10-12 during the 2026-27 academic year, the CAKE camp will allow participants to explore the Arkansas’ food and tourism systems through agricultural labs, agri-tourism investigations, enterprise development activities and creative problem-solving tasks.

The June 8-12 camp is designed to strengthen analytical reasoning, innovation, collaboration and real-world application.

The Mobile Human Sciences Camp is scheduled for June 15-19 on the ATU campus in Russellville.

Designed for students who will be in grades 8-12 during the 2026-27 academic year, the Mobile Human Sciences Camp is a free, immersive deep dive into the industries of apparel, hospitality and nutrition.

The June 15-19 camp will be held in partnership with the University of Arkansas and the USDA, allowing students to explore high-demand career pathways through hands-on learning on the ATU campus.
