Free Opportunity Offered to Ed Leadership Students

ASCD Offer 2023-24
Representatives from the Arkansas Tech University College of Education and Health welcomed Kirsten Wilson to campus in December 2023.

The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) will provide a free digital membership with its organization to Dr. Bill Morelan’s educational leadership students at Arkansas Tech University.

Arkansas Tech is one of three educational leadership programs in the United States selected by ASCD for the free membership pilot program. The value of the ASCD membership is approximately $200 per year.

Kirsten Wilson, ASCD regional partnership manager, visited the ATU campus in Russellville on Tuesday, Dec. 5, to engage with ATU students and faculty.

ASCD’s mission states that the organization empowers “educators to reimagine and redesign learning through impactful pedagogy and meaningful technology use.”

The ATU Master of Education degree in educational leadership reflects the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders, the National Educational Leadership Preparation building level standards and all school leadership standards adopted by the State of Arkansas. The program of study is designed to prepare candidates for state licensure as a building-level principal.

The degree program is nationally recognized by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation and the Specialized Professional Association and is fully approved by the Arkansas Department of Secondary and Elementary Education.
