Four ATU Representatives Set for Miss Arkansas 2021

Two Arkansas Tech University students and two 2021 ATU graduates will be among the candidates vying for the title of Miss Arkansas 2021 this summer.

Olivia Battles of Ozark, Lauren Brown of Harrison, Hannah Lomax of Russellville and Sophe Sligh of Hot Springs will represent Arkansas Tech at the Robinson Center in Little Rock June 13-19.

They will participate in four rounds of preliminary competition (interview, on-stage interview/social impact, evening wear and talent) in hopes of advancing to the final night of competition on Saturday, June 19.

It will be the first Miss Arkansas competition since 2019. The 2020 event was canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19 pandemic).

Battles, 20, is Miss Arkansas Tech University and a junior student at ATU. Her talent is a vocal performance of "Almost There." Battles' social impact statement is "Be Beautiful and Diverse."

Brown, 22, is Miss Ozark Highlands and a 2021 graduate of Arkansas Tech. Her talent is a jazz dance to the tune of "Proud Mary." Brown's social impact statement is "B.I.G. Smiles: The Power of Positive Oral Health."

Lomax, 20, is Miss City Lights and a junior student at ATU. Her talent is a performance of "Be Thou My Vision" on piano. Lomax's social impact statement is "Letters of Hope."

Sligh, 22, is Miss Sweetheart of Arkansas and a 2021 graduate of Arkansas Tech. Her talent is a violin performance of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." Sligh's social impact statement is "Live Smart for a Healthy Heart."

This is the first Miss Arkansas appearance for Battles, Brown, Lomax and Sligh.

Miss Arkansas is an official preliminary to the Miss America competition.
