February Session of Pints and Professors Announced

Pints and Professors 2025

Arkansas Tech University faculty members Dr. David J. Eshelman and Dr. Christopher Housenick will be the speakers at the Tuesday, Feb. 10, edition of Pints and Professors at Point Remove at Central Fire Station in Russellville Downtown.

The event, which is sponsored by the ATU College of Research and Graduate Studies, will begin at 6 p.m. It is open to the public.

Described in information provided by the college as “where education meets conversation…over a pint,” Pints and Professors will include a 15-to-25 minute talk followed by open discussion with a goal of making ATU research and innovation accessible, conversational and community-focused.

Eshelman will speak about Arkansas Radio Theatre, which will begin its spring 2026 schedule of broadcasts on Saturday, Feb. 14.

Housenick will discuss his research project entitled “Place Your Bets! A Deep Dive into Arkansas Gambling Policy.”

Eshelman holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in theatre from the University of Missouri. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Case Western Reserve University and his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Professor of communication and head of the ATU Department of Communication and Media Studies, Eshelman has been a member of the ATU faculty since 2006.

A member of the ATU faculty since 2009, Housenick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Slippery Rock University and Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Penn State University. His teaching and research specialize in world politics and comparative politics. Housenick is assistant professor of political science at ATU.

Pints and Professors is scheduled to continue the second Tuesday of each month through May.
