Deadline for Miss Tech Candidates to Register Jan. 29

Arkansas Tech University students who meet the eligibility requirements are invited to register for the 65th annual Miss Arkansas Tech University competition, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Witherspoon Auditorium.

The deadline to apply as a candidate for Miss Tech 2020 is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29.

The event is an official preliminary to the Miss America competition, and the winner will be a candidate in the 2020 Miss Arkansas competition.

Candidates for Miss Arkansas Tech University must be full-time female Tech students and U.S. citizens between the ages of 17 and 25.

The new Miss Tech will receive a two-semester tuition scholarship at Arkansas Tech. In all, more than $23,000 in gifts and scholarships were awarded during the 2019 Miss Tech competition.

The event is sponsored by the ladies of Delta Zeta.

Kara Dickens of Cedarville was crowned Miss Tech 2019. She and Miss Arkansas 2019 Darynne Dahlem are scheduled to provide special entertainment at the 2020 Miss Tech competition.
