Dr. Adolfo Santos, Arkansas Tech University executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, has selected Dr. Daniel S. Clark to serve as the next associate vice president for academic affairs at ATU.
Clark will begin his new role at Arkansas Tech on Jan. 2, 2026. His faculty rank will be associate professor of professional studies.
“Dr. Clark is a seasoned administrator who will help us continue to innovate in support of student success,” said Santos. “He has a keen understanding of the role of technology in education. This expertise will help Arkansas Tech rise to meet the opportunities and challenges posed by emerging technologies. I look forward to working alongside Dr. Clark to support our faculty and students in carrying out the academic mission of Arkansas Tech.”
Clark holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in adult education from North Dakota State University and a Master of Science degree in instructional design from Syracuse University (N.Y.).
He has served at Tiffin University (Ohio) as vice provost and dean of the School of Education and Extended Learning, at Western Oregon University as director of academic strategies, at Utah Valley University as senior director of distance education, at Valley State University (N.D.) as director of instructional design and in academic technology at St. Joseph College (Conn.) and Syracuse University.
“As soon as I set foot on campus, I knew Arkansas Tech was a special place,” said Clark. “I am excited to join the academic affairs team, and I look forward to working with faculty, staff, students and the Russellville community to continue to provide the life-changing educational opportunities that are ATU’s calling card. I can’t wait to get started.”
