ATU to Welcome K-12 Robotics Teams for Competitions

VEX Robotics State Championships at ATU 3-14-2025
Students from Russellville Junior High School were among those competing in the 2025 Arkansas VEX Robotics State Championships at Arkansas Tech University.

More than 170 K-12 robotics teams will descend upon Russellville for the 2026 Arkansas VEX Robotics State Championships during the month of March.

Hosted by Arkansas Tech University with leadership from the ATU robotics team, the competitions will begin on Monday, March 9, when 45 elementary school teams will participate in VEX IQ Robotics Competition (VIQRC) at Cyclone Arena on the Russellville High School campus. The next day will see 45 middle school teams arrive at Cyclone Arena for their VIQRC state championship.

On Saturday, March 14, 38 middle school VEX V5 Robotics Competition (V5RC) teams will compete at ATU’s Tucker Coliseum. The week of state championships will conclude on Sunday, March 15, with 46 high school V5RC teams taking their turn on the coliseum floor.

Qualifying teams during the week of state championships in Russellville will advance to the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championships, which will be contested at America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis, Mo., April 21-30.

VEX Robotics competitions are presented by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation. The foundation’s stated mission is “to increase student interest and involvement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on, affordable and sustainable robotics engineering programs.”
