ATU Theatre and Film Auditions Planned for January

The Arkansas Tech University theatre and film program has announced student auditions for two projects during the spring 2023 semester.

Auditions for both projects will take place at the Techionery Theatre, 1502 N. El Paso Ave. on the ATU campus in Russellville. All ATU students are invited to audition.

Auditions for a short film with a working title of “Two Strangers” are scheduled for 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, and Wednesday, Jan. 18.

“Two Strangers” is a dark comedy written by Kyndal Atkinson and Sarah Pollock. The film will be directed by Frances Roberson, ATU assistant professor of theatre and film and director of the ATU theatre and film program.

Auditions for “All the Ways the World Will End…But Not You” are scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, and Tuesday, Jan. 31.

“All the Ways” is a one-act comedy written by Ian McWethy and Jason Pizzarello. ATU’s spring 2023 production of “All the Ways” will be directed by Natalie Canerday, a professional actress whose film credits include “Sling Blade,” “October Sky” and “Walk the Line.”

The ATU cast will perform “All the Ways” at ATU’s Techionery Theatre at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 2.
