Arkansas Tech University Emerging Leaders Society conducted a food drive to benefit London Elementary School in advance of the 2025 holiday season.

This was the fourth consecutive year that ATU students collected items to support the food backpack program for children in need at London Elementary and the second consecutive year that ATU Emerging Leaders Society led the effort.

Four members of ATU Emerging Leaders Society took on leadership roles for the project. Skyla Eckhardt of Rogers is the organization’s president, while Gannon Campbell of Greenbrier is vice president. Lila Popken of Hackett and Jaiden Carnathan of Midland chaired the food drive.

Community partners that assisted in collecting the food for London Elementary School students included Centennial Bank, Dog Ear Books, First Security Bank, First State Bank and the Russellville Aquatic Center.

“Their support, along with the enthusiasm from the campus community, contributed greatly to the strong donation turnout this year,” said Eckhardt.

ATU on-campus co-sponsoring organizations for the drive included Anthropology Club, First-Generation Student Organization, Rotaract, the University Honors and Leadership living learning community, Future Business Leaders of America Collegiate, ATU Women in STEM, Presidential Leadership Cabinet, Pre-Med Club, the Beta Phi chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., ATU Collegiate Farm Bureau, the ATU chapter of Hermanadad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc., ATU Esports and Delta Zeta.
