Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, ATU-Ozark Campus and Arkansas Tech Career Center will return to in-person classes and operations on Monday, Feb. 2.

“We are grateful to our staff in facilities management, food service, public safety and residence life, among others, for the roles they played in providing services for our on-campus students during and after the winter storm,” said Dr. Russell Jones, ATU president. “Our facilities management staff members have been working non-stop this past week so we could be in a position to return to in-person classes and operations on Monday. In the meantime, we were able to continue classes and operations in a virtual environment. This is a testament to the quality of the ATU Office of Information Systems and the distance learning systems our OIS staff members maintain. I am also grateful for the efforts of our faculty and our students to continue the fulfillment of our academic mission under the difficult circumstances provided by the inclement weather.

“As we return to in-person classes and operations on Monday, I encourage all ATU faculty, staff and students to be cautious, especially in parking lots,” continued Jones. “While we have seen widespread improvement in conditions on and off campus, any member of the ATU community facing a travel concern on Monday, Feb. 2, is encouraged to contact his or her supervisor or his or her faculty members. Safety always comes first.”
