ATU Represented at Student Affairs Conference

ATU at Student Affairs Administration Conference April 2023

Faculty and students from the Arkansas Tech University student affairs administration program attended the Arkansas Student Affairs Association Conference at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway on Monday, April 24.

“The annual spring drive-in workshop is an excellent opportunity for professional development, continuing education, networking and thought-provoking conversations with professionals across the state of Arkansas,” reads a portion of the website about the event. “Intentionally designed to be a smaller venue than a full conference, the drive-in was created as a chance for all attendees to be a part of the vital discussions happening in the field of higher education today.”

Thirteen ATU graduate students and ATU faculty members Dr. Rene Couture and Dr. Dana Tribble were among those in attendance.

“We also had at least eight alumni in attendance,” said Tribble. “Our students, faculty and alumni presented at the conference as well. It was a great experience.”

According to information published online, the ATU student affairs administration program is “committed to the growth, development and success of students by combining academic preparation, mentorship and field experience in student affairs.”

Coursework offered by the program can lead to a Master of Science degree in student affairs administration and/or a collegiate advising certificate. The program also oversees first-year student course offerings as a means of helping entering college students make successful transitions to ATU.
