Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus student Karen Donberger of Charleston was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the National Technical Honor Society in recognition of her pursuit of a business technology degree.
Donberger was one of 275 NTHS members to receive the Jon H. Poteat Scholarship based on their demonstration of the seven attributes of NTHS: skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship and leadership.
Established in 1984, NTHS is an honor society for career and technical education that serves high schools, career centers, community and technical colleges and universities.
Recognizing more than 68,000 new members annually, NTHS states that it “exists to advocate for and empower all students to pursue the technical and academic skills needed to build their careers and a skilled global workforce.”
In partnership with student leadership organizations and industry partners, NTHS has awarded more than $4 million in scholarships to career and technical education students. Partners include Business Professionals of America, DECA, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Farmers of America, Future Health Professionals, Law and Public Safety Education Network, National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, the National Center for Construction Education and Research and its Build Your Future initiative, Rubin, SkillsUSA, Technology Student Association and TechForce.
