Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus has entered into a partnership with the Ford Motor Company Automotive Career Exploration (ACE) program that is designed to help ATU-Ozark automotive service technology students successfully transition to career opportunities.

Bobby Sewell, ATU-Ozark automotive service technology program chair, and Gary Donberger, ATU-Ozark automotive service technology instructor, worked for more than two years to secure status as an entry-level training facility for the Ford ACE initiative.

“This partnership will give students access to industry-aligned training and the opportunity to work with new Ford vehicles provided for hands-on instruction,” said Sewell. “We are looking forward to this opportunity to advance the future of our program’s students. We are excited to be able to offer this to students at no additional cost.”

Shawn Brockert and John Behrends, Ford Motor Company technical placement specialists, recently visited ATU-Ozark to finalize the partnership.

The Ford ACE program is a dealer-sponsored initiative intended to raise awareness and increase interest in career opportunities within the automotive industry, ultimately as a service technician at a Ford or Lincoln dealership. ACE is a partnership program between Ford Motor Company, Ford and Lincoln dealerships and secondary and post-secondary educational institutions.
