Zitlaly Onofre of Clarksville and Arnaldo Caraballo of Paris received the top two annual student awards at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus during a commencement ceremony at John E. Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Friday, May 9.
Onofre received the 47th annual Bob Adams Outstanding Student Award.
She graduated from ATU-Ozark in spring 2025 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in business technology.
Onofre said she knew ATU-Ozark was the right place to further her education after her campus tour.
“Choosing ATU-Ozark was an easy decision from the moment I stepped on campus as a high school senior,” said Onofre. “My interest in business technology led me to meet inspiring professors who have guided me throughout my journey. As a first-generation college student, I faced challenges, but the support and kindness of the ATU-Ozark faculty and staff made all the difference. My experience has been filled with growth, opportunity and a strong sense of community…one that I will carry with me beyond graduation.”
Caraballo received the ATU-Ozark Campus Spirit Award.
He graduated from ATU-Ozark in spring 2025 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in law enforcement.
Caraballo attributes his success to his family and the welcoming community at ATU-Ozark.
“Earning my associate degree in law enforcement from ATU-Ozark is a milestone that represents both personal and professional growth,” said Caraballo. “As a deputy sheriff in Logan County, I have dedicated my career to serving and protecting my community. This degree has allowed me to advance my knowledge while reinforcing my commitment to public service. None of this would have been possible without the support of my wife, Trina, and our children, who have been my greatest motivation. I also extend my appreciation to ATU-Ozark’s outstanding faculty and student services staff, whose dedication made my educational journey both rewarding and impactful.”
