Twenty-six individuals participated in Arkansas Tech University new faculty orientation at the outset of the fall 2020 semester.

The program is offered by the ATU Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

“We appreciate that these faculty members spent time learning about the university and their new roles at the university,” said Dr. Robin Lasey, director of the ATU Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. “We know that it is a busy time getting ready for the start of the school year. Some of the participants were in the process of moving to a new home. We hope that they learned something useful and met other faculty across campus they can lean on for support.”

Some of the new faculty orientation programming was offered face-to-face, while some was offered in a virtual environment.

“New faculty orientation succeeded in its goals to build a cohort and get incoming faculty ready for their role at Arkansas Tech,” said Dr. Hanna Horton, assistant director of the ATU Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. “The hybrid format proved to be an excellent training opportunity for faculty for in-class and hybrid experiences they will encounter this fall.”
