Brittany Piper will provide a keynote address entitled “Beyond Red Flags” at Arkansas Tech University on Wednesday, Oct. 28, as part of the ATU Office of Title IX observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Piper will speak at 7 p.m. in the Bibler Event Center at Ferguson Student Union. Admission will be free and open to anyone with a valid ATU identification card.
Piper is a speaker, activist, rape survivor and leading national expert and advocate on sexual violence prevention and recovery. She is also a forensic neurobiology expert who conducts trauma-informed trainings and programs. Her objective is to empower survivors to heal their past so they can thrive in the present.
Other ATU Office of Title IX events in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month will include educational tabling at locations around campus and a workshop entitled “Love Shouldn’t Hurt” at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, in the T.J. Ferguson Room at Ferguson Student Union.
