The music of American jazz composer and arranger Gordon Goodwin will be featured when the Arkansas Tech University Jazz Ensemble takes the stage at Witherspoon Auditorium on Thursday, Nov. 20.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission will be free and open to the public.
A native of Wichita, Kan., Goodwin has won four Grammy awards.
The ATU Jazz Ensemble will play five of Goodwin’s pieces — “T.O.P. Adjacent,” “There’s the Rub,” “Whodunnit?” “Yo Tannenbaum!” and “The Phat Pack.”
Soloists will include Gabriel Avila (trumpet), Kris Campbell (flugelhorn), Miles Duvall (guitar), Roman Gonzalez (piano), Gabe Graff (trombone), Gabe Hodges (tenor saxophone), Gage Hudson (baritone saxophone), Taylor Jacobs (trombone), Ryder May (guitar) and Samuel Spann (tenor saxophone).
The ATU Jazz Ensemble is directed by Dr. Sean Reed, ATU professor of music.
