ATU HWC Offers Chances to Talk, Grow Together

The Arkansas Tech University Health and Wellness Center is hosting opportunities for ATU students to come together and discuss their common challenges and opportunities with peer health advocates and members of the ATU HWC staff during the spring 2024 semester.

“Coffee and Conversation” will be an ongoing series this semester each Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. in Doc Bryan Student Services Center room 119. There will be coffee, snacks, games and prizes.

Topics will include readjusting to college after the break (Thursday, Jan. 25), social anxiety (Tuesday, Jan. 30, and Thursday, Feb. 1), depression and anxiety (Tuesday, Feb. 6, and Thursday, Feb. 8), relationships (Tuesday, Feb. 13, and Thursday, Feb. 15), body image (Tuesday, Feb. 20, and Thursday, Feb. 22), perfectionism (Tuesday, Feb. 27, and Thursday, Feb. 29), nutrition and exercise (Tuesday, March 5, and Thursday, March 7), homesickness (Tuesday, March 12, and Thursday, March 14), gossip (Tuesday, March 26, and Thursday, March 28), mindfulness (Tuesday, April 2, and Thursday, April 4), suicide prevention (Tuesday, April 9, and Thursday, April 11), and study habits and time management (Tuesday, April 16, and Thursday, April 18).

“Mindfulness Mondays” will take a deeper dive into the characteristics and benefits of mindfulness and offer opportunities to practice mindfulness as a group. This group will meet each Monday at 3 p.m. in Doc Bryan Student Services Center room 119.
