The Arkansas Tech University Symphonic Wind Ensemble performed at a community ceremony commemorating the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.
ATU students performed “The Star Spangled Banner,” “Fanfare for the Fallen” and “America the Beautiful” under the direction of Dr. Daniel A. Belongia, professor of music and director of bands at ATU.
Led by Russellville Mayor Richard Harris and Pope County Judge Ben Cross, the ceremony also included the introduction of a proclamation declaring Sept. 11 as Patriot Day in Russellville and a reading of the names of Arkansans who died in the terrorist attacks on 9/11.
