ATU Adjusts Scholarships to Create More Opportunities

High school seniors who are planning to attend Arkansas Tech University in fall 2022 have enhanced opportunities to receive scholarships as part of newly-announced scholarship tiers.

ATU has changed its freshman academic scholarships to solely focus on high school grade point average (GPA), providing more earning opportunity for prospective students who enroll at ATU this fall.

New scholarship tiers offered at Arkansas Tech for Fall 2022 students.

Students no longer have to submit an ACT or SAT score in order to receive a scholarship offer.

“We are incredibly excited to provide these new scholarship tiers to prospective students,” said Alisa Waniewski, associate director for academic scholarships in the ATU Office of Admissions. “ATU is committed to a mission of access and student success, and these scholarships provide a means to help many in our state pursue higher education.”

Students who have already accepted their current scholarship award will automatically be adjusted to the new tiers if their scholarship award improves. Students who are eligible for additional scholarship monies and have not yet accepted their scholarship award will receive a new scholarship offer via their personal e-mail. Additionally, students are still eligible to apply for the fall 2022 academic year and be considered for scholarship monies.

Should a student receive less funding using the new tiers, Arkansas Tech is committed to honoring that student’s award so that no student is adversely impacted by the change.

In addition to providing new scholarship tiers, ATU is also making it easier for students to keep their scholarship by lowering the renewal rate for freshman academic scholarships to a 2.75 GPA.
