ACWHE Conference Scheduled for February 29

The Arkansas Council of Women in Higher Education (ACWHE) will conduct its 2024 conference in a virtual environment from 9 a.m.-noon on Thursday, Feb. 29.

Arkansas Tech University female faculty, staff and graduate students are eligible to participate free of charge.

ATU female employees and graduate students also encouraged to submit proposals for presentations under the conference theme of “Leaping Forward.” Suggested topics for presentations include mentorship, goals establishment, skill transferal across roles, leadership and navigating conflict. Deadline to submit proposals is Friday, Feb. 16.

Dr. Marjorie Hass will be the conference keynote speaker. She is president of the Council of Independent Colleges.

A philosopher by training, Hass earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her career in higher education has included service as a professor, provost and president. She has led the Council of Independent Colleges since 2021.
