Emmy Award-winning film producer and director Russ Kirkpatrick will offer a screening of his company’s new film, “Will to Win,” at Arkansas Tech University on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The screening will take place at 2 p.m. in the Techionery Theatre, 1502 N. El Paso Ave. on the ATU campus in Russellville. Admission will be free and open to the public.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view a rough cut of the film, which stars Sean Astin, Isabel Deroy-Olson, Lorraine Bracco and Jeremy Piven.

There will be a question and answer session with Kirkpatrick following the screening.

Frances Roberson, ATU director of theatre and associate professor of theatre and film, explained that the event will provide “a rare opportunity to see an unfinished film and hear directly from its director and producer about the filmmaking process, creative decisions and journey from production to the final screen.”

In addition to the screening of “Will to Win” on Nov. 14, Kirkpatrick will also visit a class taught by Roberson at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12.

ATU students interested in attending the Nov. 12 class as a guest are invited to send e-mail to froberson@atu.edu. Guest seating will be available as space allows.

Along with Andy Kinslow, Kirkpatrick is co-owner of Kirkpatrick and Kinslow Productions.

In 2014, Kirkpatrick and Kinslow won an Emmy award for their first film, “Boomtown: An American Journey.”

According to information on the Kirkpatrick and Kinslow Productions website, the company produces feature-length movies, documentaries and content for television.
