Arkansas Tech University will observe Veterans Day 2026 with a flag raising event at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, on the lawn between Tucker Coliseum and the Doc Bryan Student Services Center.

Attendance will be open to the public.

The event is presented by the ATU Major General William E. Harmon Office of Veteran Services. The mission of the office is to “assist veterans, guardsmen, reservists and their dependents in taking full advantage of all educational benefits to which they are entitled and to assist in their transition to student life and to persist until they have attained their educational goal.”

Following the flag raising, the ATU Major General William E. Harmon Office of Veteran Services and Sodexo, food service provider at Arkansas Tech, will offer a free lunch for all veterans with a valid identification card. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Chambers Cafeteria.

Tammy Dougan will serve as speaker for the lunch. She is a first sergeant in the Arkansas Army National Guard and chief of public safety in the ATU Department of Public Safety.
