Arkansas Tech University alumna and 2026 Arkansas teacher of the year Stephanie Williams will provide a presentation entitled “Finding Your Professional Passion” at ATU on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Williams will speak at 1 p.m. in Doc Bryan Student Services Center Lecture Hall. Admission will be free and open to the public.
A 2009 graduate of Arkansas Tech with a bachelor’s degree in music education, Williams is the music teacher at Mountain View Elementary School in her hometown of Benton. She was previously band director at Benton Middle School for 14 years.
Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Arkansas Department of Education Secretary Jacob Oliva notified Williams of her selection as 2026 Arkansas teacher of the year during a surprise assembly at Mountain View Elementary in October 2025.
Arkansas Tech recognized Williams for her award when she made an appearance at an ATU home football game at Simmons Bank Field at Thone Stadium on Nov. 15, 2025.
The Oct. 28 event will be hosted by the ATU Graduate College.
