Sigma Tau Delta honor society and the Arkansas Tech University Department of English and World Languages will host a publishing talk and book launch featuring Joshua Nichols at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center room 300A.
Nichols’ talk will include information about monetizing writing, serialized publishing, gaining writing experience and publishing opportunities. There will also be a question-and-answer component. Admission will be free and open to the public.
A native of Franklin County and graduate of Ozark High School, Nichols began his post-secondary education at ATU-Ozark Campus. There, he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in business technology. He later enrolled at ATU in Russellville as a physical education major with a long-term goal of opening a mixed martial arts gym. When physical illness caused him to change course, he rediscovered a passion from his youth and began writing.
Now, Nichols holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from ATU and is a visiting lecturer of English at Arkansas Tech.
Nichols recently signed a four-book contract with Riverfolk Books. His first novel, “The Rise of the Blood God,” will be available beginning Tuesday, Sept. 22, under the pen name J.L. Nichols.
