Arkansas Tech University and the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce are hosting the 11th annual Paint the Town Green and Gold community spirit contest.
Businesses and organizations participating in Paint the Town Green and Gold will decorate the interior and/or exterior of their places of business in Arkansas Tech themes from Aug. 1-19 in advance of ATU residence hall move-in day on Sunday, Aug. 16, and the first day of class for the fall semester on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
Deadline to enter the competition is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18. Judging will take place Thursday, Aug. 20.

Prizes, including the Paint the Town Green and Gold traveling trophy, will be awarded. Winners will be recognized on social media and/or through local media outlets.
All businesses and non-profit organizations that enter the 2026 Paint the Town Green and Gold community spirit contest will receive complimentary tailgating space and up to five game tickets when the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys host Southwestern Oklahoma State University for the football season home opener on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Simmons Bank Field at Thone Stadium in Russellville. Tailgating will begin at 4 p.m. and kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
