Students from Arkansas Lighthouse Charter Schools participated in the 2026 Arkansas Tech University Ag-STEM Experience Camp on the ATU campus in Russellville May 21-22.
Camp participants gained hands-on learning in agriculture, science, technology, engineering and mathematics. They also toured the ATU campus and learned about the post-secondary educational opportunities available at Arkansas Tech.
ATU Department of Agriculture and Tourism faculty members Dr. Justin Killingsworth, Dr. Kayla Marsh, Dr. Gergely Motolai and Dr. Tatum Simms were among the collaborators who organized the camp. They received assistance from current agriculture students at Arkansas Tech.
The camp was made possible by a U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture Women and Minorities in STEM grant and leadership by ATU registered student organization Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS). This marked the second consecutive year the camp was offered.
