ATU Hosts Senior High, Junior High Bands for Festival

The Greenwood Symphonic Winds from Greenwood High School were among the performance groups at the 2026 Arkansas Tech University Southern Regional Concert Band Festival, an affiliate of Music for All National Festival presented by Yamaha.

Eighteen performance groups representing 10 school districts participated in the 2026 Arkansas Tech University Southern Regional Concert Band Festival, an affiliate of Music for All National Festival presented by Yamaha.

Musicians from the school districts in Cabot, Clarksville, Dardanelle, Fayetteville, Greenwood, Jacksonville, Morrilton, Norfork, Pottsville and Russellville were among those who performed.

The ATU Symphonic Wind Ensemble offered two performances during the festival, which took place April 1-2 at Witherspoon Auditorium on the Arkansas Tech campus in Russellville.

Each performance group received feedback from a panel of clinicians consisting of Dr. Joey Bello, director of bands at Northeastern State University (Okla.); Dr. Daniel A. Belongia, ATU director of bands; Dr. Cody Birdwell, director of bands at the University of Kentucky; Dr. Adam P. Miller, ATU associate director of bands; Sue Niven, retired music educator; Dr. Amy Porter, ATU assistant professor of music; and Dr. Katherine Rohwer, ATU director of choral activities.
