2026 Creative Writing Scholarship Winners Announced

Witherspoon Hall is home to the Arkansas Tech University College of Arts and Humanities.

The Arkansas Tech University Department of English and World Languages, in partnership with the ATU Office of Admissions, has announced the winners of its annual creative writing scholarship contest for high school seniors.

They are:

  • First Place: Julian Robertson, Marshall High School, $1,500
  • Second Place: Alivia Key, Prescott High School, $1,000
  • Third Place: Bailey Potter, Marshall High School, $1,000
  • Fourth Place: Hannah Neighbors, Fountain Lake High School, $500
  • Fifth Place: Taegan Wolfgram, Two Rivers High School, $500
  • Sixth Place: Ella Lovell, Valley Springs High School, $500

In addition to the one-time $1,500 award, Robertson’s winning submission will appear in the spring 2026 issue of Nebo, Arkansas Tech’s student-edited literary journal.

Submissions were judged by ATU Department of English and World Languages faculty members Dr. Claire Kortyna, Dr. Mary Sharpe, Dr. Stan Lombardo and Eli Cranor.
