ATU Faculty Senate Begins 2025-26 Calendar

Arkansas Tech University Faculty Senate has named its officers for the 2025-26 academic year.

Dr. Michael Rogers, professor of political science, is chair. Dr. Carl Brucker, professor of English, is chair elect. Dr. Virginia Jones, associate professor of communication, is secretary.

Dr. Tom Nupp, who served as ATU Faculty Senate chair in 2024-25, handed the gavel to Rogers at a luncheon that coincided with the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year.

The following ATU faculty members, listed by the ATU entities they represent as senators, are also serving on ATU Faculty Senate during 2025-26:

ATU College of Arts and Humanities

  • Dr. Jon Clements, professor of music
  • Dr. Peter Dykema, professor of history

ATU Faculty Senate will conduct its 2025-26 meetings on Tuesday, Sept. 9, Tuesday, Oct. 14, Tuesday, Nov. 11, Thursday, Dec. 8, Tuesday, Feb. 10, Tuesday, March 10, Tuesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 30.

All of the meetings above are scheduled to take place in Rothwell Hall room 312. With two exceptions, they will begin at 3 p.m. The two exceptions are the meetings on Dec. 8 and April 30, which will start at 1 p.m.
