Mizaur, Fawcett Join ATU-Ozark Leadership Team

Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus has announced the addition of Bill Mizaur and Dr. Wayne Fawcett to its administration.

Mizaur will serve as director of Arkansas Tech Career Center, while Fawcett fulfill the role of director for the ATU-Ozark adult education program.

“ATU-Ozark is pleased to welcome Mr. Bill Mizaur as the new director of the Arkansas Tech Career Center,” said Dr. Sheila R. Jacobs, ATU-Ozark chancellor. “He brings a proven track record of leadership in education, a commitment to student success and a passion for building strong community and industry partnerships. His experience in both K-12 and adult education, combined with his skills in leadership development, curriculum planning and community outreach, uniquely position him to lead ATCC into its next chapter of growth and innovation. I am confident that under his direction ATCC will continue to provide outstanding career and technical training that equips students for success in the workforce and beyond.”

Mizaur is an alumnus of Arkansas Tech. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in social studies education, a Master of Education degree in educational leadership and an Educational Specialist degree from ATU. He also holds a Master of Education degree in adult education and lifelong learning from the University of Arkansas.

“I am truly honored to join Arkansas Tech Career Center and humbled that the ATU leadership and hiring committee have placed their trust in me to lead this team,” said Mizaur. “ATCC has a proud history of helping students realize their potential and prepare for both college and the workforce. I am excited to work alongside our talented staff to strengthen industry and community partnerships while ensuring our graduates have the skills, confidence and opportunities to succeed.”

Mizaur has served as a superintendent and a principal as part of his career in education.

Fawcett holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Ouachita Baptist University, where he double majored in political science and secondary education. He earned a Master of Education degree in gifted education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a Doctor of Education degree in educational administration from Harding University.

“We are honored to welcome Dr. Wayne Fawcett as the new director of adult education at Arkansas Tech University–Ozark Campus,” said Jacobs. “Dr. Fawcett’s decades of leadership experience, from classroom instruction to district-level administration, reflect a firm dedication to education and community service. His proven ability to lead teams, foster partnerships and champion student achievement will strengthen our mission to provide transformative educational opportunities for adult learners. I am confident that under his leadership our adult education program will expand its impact, equipping even more students with the skills and credentials they need to thrive in today’s changing workforce.”

Fawcett brings 39 total years of experience in education, 17 of which he served as a superintendent.

“I’m excited to be the new director of adult education and work with ATU-Ozark to provide quality opportunities for adults in the Arkansas River Valley,” said Fawcett. “Having previously worked in the Arkansas River Valley for 10 years, I was aware of the stellar reputation of the adult education program and ATU-Ozark. I hope to continue and expand that reputation while addressing the educational needs for adults in Franklin, Logan and Johnson counties.”
