
The Arkansas Tech University Health and Wellness Center hosted 119 participants for the 2026 ATU Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk on Saturday, April 11.
The event raised $4,345 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
The ATU Health and Wellness Center and St. Mary’s Regional Health System Turning Point behavioral health program collaborate to organize the annual event, which dates back to 2014. In all, the Out of the Darkness walks at ATU have raised more than $140,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Additional sponsors for the 2026 Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk at Arkansas Tech included State Rep. Matt Duffield, River Valley Medical Wellness and Pinnacle Pointe Behavioral Health.
Hunter Bramlitt, ATU associate dean for student wellness, and Matthew Klein, business development liaison for Turning Point, served as co-chairs for the 2026 walk.
The walking team from Millard-Henry Clinic in Russellville was No. 1 in fundraising for the event and earned the honor of carrying the banner during the walk.
