Want to Study Abroad in Japan This Summer?

Arkansas Tech University students interested in participating in a summer 2024 study abroad trip to Japan are invited to an informational session on Thursday, Feb. 15.

The meeting will take place at 12:30 p.m. in Baswell Techionery room 202.

Travel dates are May 12-21, 2024. Participants will spend three days in Tokyo, three days in Kyoto and three days in Osaka.

The trip is being organized by Angela Black, ATU associate librarian, and Dr. Kae Hashimoto Reed, ATU visiting instructor of music and world languages.

“Students will have the chance to explore Nara Park, visit the Kyoto International Manga Museum and the Tokyo National Museum, as well as ride the Shinkansen bullet train, visit some of Kyoto’s historic temples, wander the Sagano Bamboo Forest and enjoy city tours of the bustling streets of Tokyo,” said Black. “Knowledge of Japanese language is not required. Lodging, breakfasts, transportation and health insurance are included. Student family members and other faculty are welcome to travel, too.”

Up to $2,000 per student in study abroad scholarship assistance is available for those who apply by Friday, March 1. Additional scholarships are available through the travel agency, Worldstrides.
