ATU-Ozark Offering Leaders in the Industry Series

Barry Bateman, maintenance technician at ABB in Ozark, was the guest speaker at the first Leaders in the Industry event of the 2022-23 academic year at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus.

Bateman’s presentation on Thursday, Oct. 20, was entitled “Adding Value to the Modern Work Environment” and was part of ATU-Ozark’s recognition of Manunfacturing Month.

After several years working in skilled trades, Bateman earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in industrial electronic technology from ATU-Ozark in 2004. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in 2007. That same year, Bateman began working for Baldor Electric Company as a manufacturing engineer at its Clarksville facility.

Bateman assumed the position of manufacturing engineering manager/maintenance manager at the Clarksville facility in 2009 and later held that role at the Ozark facility as well. Bateman has since held numerous management roles including production manager, continuous improvement manager and quality assurance manager.

The Leaders in the Industry series is designed to focus on the sectors of educational programs at ATU-Ozark: trades, business and banking and health care. Upcoming programs are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, and 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the ATU-Ozark Student Services Conference Center.
