Arkansas Tech University student Jared James Sykes died on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021.
Sykes, 20, was from Dardanelle. He was a member of the Arkansas National Guard, an employee of First State Bank and a former employee of Burris Inc. Furniture and Office Products.
“We extend sincere condolences to Jared’s family and friends,” said ATU President Dr. Robin E. Bowen. “Students, faculty and staff are reminded that counselors are available in the Arkansas Tech Health and Wellness Center (479-968-0329) for those who need their services.”
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Cornwell Funeral Home, 207 Quay Street in Dardanelle.
The funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at First Baptist Church of Russellville, 200 S. Denver Ave.
