ATU Graduates Complete ASP Training Academy

Five Arkansas Tech University alumni are among the July 2019 graduates of the Arkansas State Police Training Academy.

They are:

  • Dakota Davis, 22, will be assigned to Highway Patrol Division, Troop A, Pulaski County. He graduated from Mountain View High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from ATU in 2018.
  • Skyler McElroy, 26, will be assigned to Highway Patrol Division, Troop H, Scott County. He graduated from Magazine High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in recreation and parks administration from ATU in 2016.
  • Daniel Parker, 25, will be assigned to Highway Patrol Division, Troop D, Phillips County. He graduated from Danville High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from ATU in 2016.
  • Ty Roberson, 21, will be assigned to Highway Patrol Division, Troop I, Boone County. He graduated from Jasper High School and earned an Associate of Science degree in criminal justice from ATU in 2018.
  • Anthony Worn, 24, will be assigned to Highway Patrol Division, Troop A, Pulaski County. He graduated from Catholic High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in recreation and parks administration from ATU in 2016.

These five individuals and 31 of their peers graduated during a ceremony in Little Rock on July 18 after completing 1,127 hours of specialized training.

Jami Cook, secretary of the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, and Col. Bill Bryant, director of the Arkansas State Police, addressed the recruits.

Arkansas Supreme Court Chief Justice John Dan Kemp administered the Oath of Arkansas State Trooper to the recruit graduates.
