ATU Alum Speaks to Ozark Campus HVAC Students

Brent Garrett, the owner of Sirius Plumbing and Air Conditioning in Carrollton, Texas, spoke to the Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC) students yesterday sharing his tips for success in the HVAC industry.

“Are you committed to my success?” “Can I trust you? “Will you treat me fairly?” are the three main questions he asks while interviewing a potential new employee.

He believes that a successful business requires an answer “yes” from each of the questions.

Garrett, an ATU alum, has visited the Ozark Campus often since he had joined the ATU Alumni board of directors in 2018.

“When I joined the board, my expectation was to get involved more deeply than only in a financial way and support the school from afar. I wanted to be involved with students. I don’t think I would be successful if it weren’t for Arkansas Tech University. I want to give back in any way that I can.”

Garrett shared, “I enjoy speaking to the ATU-Ozark HVAC students because I have a vested interest in their success since I own a plumbing and air conditioning company.”

Garrett’s final advice for the students was, “Look for a company that has vision, and have a vision for your career.”
