ATCC Students Collect Honors at SkillsUSA Event

Arkansas Tech Career Center's health knowledge bowl team earned a gold medal at the 2022 Arkansas SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference.

Seven Arkansas Tech Career Center (ATCC) students earned awards during the 2022 Arkansas SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference in Hot Springs April 12-13.

Natalie Bates of Russellville, Luis Garcia of Dardanelle, Keith Slaughter of Russellville and Makyla Thompson of Dardanelle captured gold in the health knowledge bowl team competition.

Kara Sanders of Paris earned gold in computer numerical control milling. Sanders is a student at ATCC’s Paris satellite location, the Tyson Foods Logan County Career Center.

Kylee Smith of Russellville and Isaac Lindsey of Hector won bronze medals. Smith earned recognition in the first aid/CPR competition, while Lindsey earned his prize in the carpentry competition.

ATCC is headquartered in Russellville with satellite locations in Clarksville, Danville, Ozark and Paris. According to the ATCC website, Arkansas Tech Career Center programs lead to “high skill, high demand jobs, striving to help build a well-prepared workforce that supports economic development across the (Arkansas) River Valley Region.”
