The Russellville Regional Leadership Academy (RRLA), a program of the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce, is accepting applications for Class 41 through Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Tuition is $750. Partial scholarships are available.
Applications are available at www.russellvillechamber.com/russellville-regional-leadership-academy.
“RRLA seeks individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to serving the River Valley region and who are interested in developing their leadership skills to make a lasting impact in the community,” said Angela Bonds, chief community development officer for the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Selection criteria include a demonstrated interest in community involvement beyond the training period, a willingness to commit time to monthly sessions and field projects, a likelihood of remaining in the Russellville region, and evidence of leadership abilities in the workplace and community.”
Since its inception in 1986, the Russellville Regional Leadership Academy has graduated more than 600 community leaders.
“The program is designed to identify, educate and motivate emerging leaders while providing participants with a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the Russellville area,” said Bonds. “RRLA aims to develop a pool of informed and engaged citizens prepared to assume current and future leadership roles throughout the community.”
The program begins in September with an overnight retreat and orientation, allowing class members to build relationships and become acquainted with one another. Participants will then attend monthly sessions held at various locations throughout the region, with each session focused on a specific community topic. Because of the interactive nature of the program, applicants asked to commit the time necessary to attend all scheduled sessions.
“The (Russellville Regional) Leadership Academy continues to play a vital role in preparing individuals to serve and lead in the River Valley,” said Bonds. “We encourage anyone interested in making a difference in our community to apply.”
The Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of businesses and professionals working together to promote the civic, economic, professional, cultural and industrial progress of the Russellville region.
