Emily Wyles has been appointed program chair for the cosmetic science and cosmetology program at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus.
Wyles holds a cosmetology certificate from Arkansas Valley Technical Institute, now ATU-Ozark Campus. She returned in 2018 to earn her cosmetology instructor’s license and Associate of Applied Science degree in cosmetic science from ATU-Ozark.
“I am very proud to call ATU-Ozark my alma mater and now have the opportunity to serve as cosmetology program chair,” said Wyles. “Cosmetology gave me a career that allowed me to provide for my family and build a life doing something I love. My own cosmetology instructor was an incredible mentor who inspired me to become an instructor myself. I hope I can have that same kind of impact on my students and help them see the opportunities this career can provide.”
Wyles has been a cosmetologist for 25 years and has owned and operated her own salon since 2004. She has been a part of the ATU-Ozark team as an adjunct cosmetology instructor since 2019.
