Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus cardiac sonography graduates in the class of 2026 achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the cardiac sonography board examination administered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
The 2026 cohort also achieved the highest average scores in program history.
“This achievement is a testament to the hard work, determination and resilience of our students,” said Kristen Wendling, ATU-Ozark cardiac sonography program chair. “We have watched them challenge themselves every day. We could not be more proud of this outstanding group of graduates. We are honored to celebrate their achievements and excited to watch their careers in cardiac sonography flourish.”
The ATU-Ozark cardiac sonography program is housed at Arkansas Colleges of Health Education Research Institute Health and Wellness Center in Fort Smith.
Students in the program complete more than 100 hours in on-campus labs using both peer practice and volunteer subjects. They also log more than 950 hours of clinical rotations in hospitals and clinics throughout the region.
Those experiences, along with preparation courses and practice exams, prepare graduates for the CCI exam and subsequent career opportunities.
“We look forward to the positive impact these students will make on patients, health care teams and the profession as a whole,” said Wendling.
