Warnick Named Asst. VP for Student Success

Dr. Jason Warnick, a member of the Arkansas Tech University faculty since 2006, has been selected to serve in the role of assistant vice president for student success at ATU effective July 1, 2017.

“Dr. Warnick possesses an innate desire to help students and a set of professional experiences that make him well-suited for this important role at our university,” said Dr. Mohamed Abdelrahman, ATU vice president for academic affairs. “He will lead and coordinate the campus-wide efforts to develop, implement and assess high-impact programs targeting student success at Arkansas Tech from retention and graduation to having impactful careers. We look forward to his leadership in this realm.”

Warnick earned Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Arkansas State University, while his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees are from the University of Mississippi.

His service at ATU has included serving as chair of the 2015-16 strategic planning committee and as director for the ATU Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. He holds the faculty rank of associate professor of psychology.

Warnick received the 2014 Arkansas Tech Faculty Award of Excellence in the service category, the 2015 Arkansas Tech Faculty Award of Excellence in the scholarship and creative activity category and the 2016 Arkansas Tech Faculty Award of Excellence in the teaching category. He is the only faculty member in ATU history to win a Faculty Award of Excellence in each of the three possible categories.

The student body elected Warnick ATU professor of the year at the conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year.
