Students Attend Conference Hosted by Farm Bureau

Several students in the Arkansas Tech Department of Agriculture spend part of their weekend networking with professionals and learning about their future career field.

Seven members of the Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter at Arkansas Tech attended the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers Conference.

During the conference, the students attended several workshops and had the opportunity to connect with industry leaders.

While attending junior Lindsey Triplett won the state collegiate discussion meet. The meet is designed to simulate a committee meeting, and participants are evaluated on their discussion and participation. With the win, Triplett received a $300 prize and will represent Arkansas in the national competition in February of 2017.

Those attending the conference include (from left to right): Gwen Bradley, Grant Tarvin, Tatum Tompkins, Tech professor and chapter advisor Randy Renfro, Lindsey Triplett, Isaiah Currie, Kisia Weeks and Lane Tarvin.
