The National Weather Service has notified the public of an enhanced threat of severe weather in Arkansas on Friday, April 13, 2018.
Communication from the Little Rock office of the National Weather Service indicates that severe thunderstorms are likely during the afternoon and evening hours. The Russellville and Ozark campuses of Arkansas Tech University are included in the area that the National Weather Service has listed as facing an enhanced threat of experiencing damaging winds.

A tornado watch for the region including the Russellville and Ozark campuses of ATU was issued at 2:30 p.m. and is scheduled to remain in effect until 10 p.m.
Arkansas Tech students, faculty and staff are encouraged to review the severe weather procedures outlined on the Department of Public Safety website.
